Shipping

How to get the best shipping rate:

Each item on our website has a shipping weight listed.

Total weight for your order appears in the shopping cart and at checkout.

A 70 lb package gives the best shipping rate per lb.  Small packages cost far more per lb to ship.

To get the best shipping rate, make sure your total order is close to, but not over a multiple of 70 lbs.

See the bottom of this page for more information on shipping rates.

Shipping methods:

Most orders are shipped Federal Express Home Delivery.

Most t-shirt orders, and some very small orders are shipped by USPS priority mail.

If your order is over 350 lbs, and you can have it shipped to a business which has a forklift,

contact us for a freight quote ... sales@pyrogear.net or 636-272-7976.

Order delivery times:

We try to ship all orders within one week of placement.  Most orders will be processed sooner than this.

If you need your order to arrive by a certain date, please contact us (preferably by e-mail).

When your order is shipped you will receive an e-mail with tracking information.

We are located near St. Louis, MO.  Transit time is typically 1 business day within 300 miles of St. Louis.

The 2-day transit area includes most of TX, through CO, SD, and MN, all of central USA, and most of the east coast.

The 3-day transit area is FL, New England, and most areas in the Mountain Time Zone.

Orders to the west coast have a 4-day transit time.

More on shipping rates:

As stated above, each item on our website has a shipping weight associated with it.

Our shipping calculator totals the weight for an order, then determines how many 70 lb packages are in the order,

and then how much weight is left for the last package.

Then the shipping calculator looks up the shipping rate for your zipcode and the package weights and adds

a handling fee to cover packing material and costs.

Returning customers who have used our old website will notice a change in shipping costs.

The old website used flat rate shipping based on order value.  Now shipping is calculated from exact order weight and your zipcode

Shipping for customers closer to us will be cheaper, and to those very far from us more expensive, while for most, shipping will be about the same as before on average.

To get the best shipping rate, it is important to remember that 70 lbs is the largest package size and gives the best rates.

Going slightly over 70 lbs, or a multiple of 70 lbs costs you a lot in shipping charges.

For example, Suppose you wanted 80 of our 2" dr11 x 15" mortars.  Total shipping weight would be about 77 lbs.

Shipping might be $32 for the 73 mortars that make a full 70 lb package.

Adding 7 more mortars would add about $12 shipping, or nearly $2 per mortar.
